FORMER Minister Allan Wilson has been selected as the Labour candidate to fight the Cunninghame North seat in the forthcoming Scottish parliamentary elections.
At a meeting of local members of the Labour Party on Sunday, August 22, the selection of the trade unionist, former MSP and Scottish Government Minister was confirmed. Educated at Beith’s Speirs High School, the Kilbirnie politician served as an MSP until 2007, being elected for Cunninghame North in the inaugural Scottish Parliament election in 1999.
Mr Wilson (left) commented: “I am delighted to have been selected as Labour’s candidate for Cunninghame North at the Scottish Parliament elections and I am grateful for the support and encouragement shown by local party members.
