Beith festive parade woe

BEITH Town Centre Initiative have confirmed that this year's late-night town centre Christmas shopping evening and parade has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.

As Herald Beith correspondent Donald Reid reported, BTCI held a crisis meeting to discuss the event and parade which had been planned for Friday, December 4.

However, only two additional members of the public attended and the disappointed committee had little choice other than to cancel the 2009 event.
