Revenge truly was sweet for fired-up Kilmarnock as they gunned down an Airdrie side who had knocked them out of ther league cup five and a half years earlier to set up a High Noon last-16 showdown with Celtic at Rugby Park on Saturday.

Determined to make amends for their shock exit at the same stage last year, Jimn Jefferies' side came out with all guns blazing and the Diamonds were cut down to size as they never looked like pulling off the giant-killing some pundits were predicting.
