RUGBY STARS TO BALL BOYS!

THEY are used to their tackles and fumbling balls but now one local rugby club have taken things a step further and have stripped off for a calendar.

Twenty-one players from Garnock Rugby Club took the decision in an effort to raise money for the club and for Ayrshire hospice.

And with only 1000 calendars available it"s certain that female and male admirers alike will be running out to buy the calendar for Christmas.

Grant Ruxston, one of the big-hearted players who bared all for the calendar, said: 'We had heard that it had been done before and elsewhere and had been a success so we thought that we would do it.

'So you had 21 guys on a Sunday morning baring all. We were a bit sheepish at first but after a while we started to see the funny side of it.'

And the good news is that the calendar covers a fourteen month period, from December 2007 through to January 2009.

Grant explained: 'This is a deluxe calendar. It means that you can buy it now and you wont have to rush out and buy a new calendar first thing in January.'

Anyone wishing to buy the calendar can do so through the club website www.garnock.com for £7.
