Council use criminals on community service to get rid of snow
YOUNG offenders have been drafted in to help clear pathways after more snow hit North Ayrshire this week.
Council chiefs are using up to 20 criminals who have been sentenced to community service to help clear pavements outside council buildings.
Residents and staff at sheltered housing units such as Bonnie Lesley Court in Stevenston, Currie Court in Ardrossan, Saltcoats' David White Centre together with Friars Lawn and Pennyburn Residential Unit in Kilwinning have all reaped the benefits of the scheme.
