Cocaine crackdown

POLICE are using 'cocaine' torches to check if illegal drugs are being used within North Ayrshire's pubs and clubs.

Licensees are being urged to work the Strathclyde Police to tackle a problem that can lead to increased violence, especially when combined with alcohol.

The Salt Cot on Hamilton Street is one premises taking part in the operation which was launched on Friday.
