£180k project to attract buyers underway

ONE of Ardrossan's eyesores is this week being redeveloped in a bid to find a buyer.

The Harbour Inn, formerly known as Nicol's, has been closed for a number of years but now a £180,000 project has been started by Irvine Bay Regeneration Company to help the owners find a buyer for the property.

Owners of the B Listed building have put the once-busy pub on the market for offers over £150,000 and Irvine Bay have already started demolishing unsafe areas of the building.

Arthur Watson, development manager for Irvine Bay, explained: "We are doing what we call essential repairs to the property."
