A SALTCOATS woman has raised thousands of pounds for an Ayrshire Cancer Care group.

Manager of Cafe Del Greco in Saltcoats and bar staff at Castlehill Vaults, Iona McKinnon rasied £2893 for Ayrshire Cancer Care by doing a sponsored cycle around Millport and holding a charity evening at Ardrossan's Castlehill Vaults.

Impressed by the level of care given by Ayrshire Cancer Care to people close to her affected by cancer, Iona decided to chose the group as her chosen charity and was joined by Cafe Del Greco staff in her cycle as well as being given a helping hand by Castlehill Vaults' staff on the charity evening.

Iona would like to thank all customers and friends who gave generously and also to all the Saltcoats businesses who contributed raffle prizes for her charity evening.
