THE Mona Queen car ferry is pictured in August 1985 on her last voyage from Ardrossan to Douglas on the Isle of Man.

From Douglas, holiday-makers from Ardrossan made crossings to Liverpool, Heysham, Belfast and Dublin before the introduction of cheap flights and holiday packages to destinations further afield.
