A TORTOISE valued at around £140 was stolen from a Saltcoats pet store between 4.45pm and 4.55pm on Monday.

The Horsfield tortoise was in a display cabinet in Pets Market when it was taken. The tortoise, who has no name, is only two years old and is described as being around three inches long and four inches wide.

The owner of the store is extremely concerned for its saftey and is appealing for its safe return.
