SALTCOATS Town Hall is lying empty and unable to be used because of council cutbacks, says a local MP.

North Ayrshie Council were due to start work on refurbishing the town hall back in October 2009 but no are no longer going ahead with the project, according to claims made by North Ayrshire and Arran MP Katy Clark.

Having noticed little activity on the site in the last year, Ms Clark contacted NAC chief executive, Elma Murray and reportedly received a response explaining that, following a review of NAC’s budget, the refurbishments at Saltcoats Town Hall were no longer deemed a priority.
