STRATHCLYDE Fire & Rescue had a busy summer locally, with dozens of fires - many of them started deliberately - to attend during June, July and August.

Disturbingly, wilful fire-raising was suspected in several incidents in the Three Towns - namely fires at a front door of a house in Barrie Terrace, Ardrossan, a ground floor flat in Hayocks Road, Stevenston and at a stairwell fire in New Street, Stevenston.
