A COMMUNITY radio station based in Saltcoats is taking the initiative to improve health and promote career development in the Three Towns.

Dreamed up in 2004 and first broadcast in 2005, 3TFM’s primary focus is promoting health locally but, having scooped numerous awards from Ofcom and Skills Development, also manages to provide invaluable voctional training in all aspects of radio production.

With volunteers ranging from the age of 14 to 70, the community station currently has 35 active volunteers every week who come together to produce live broadcasts Monday to Friday from the Focus Learning Centre in Saltcoats.
