MP gets behind cuts campaign
WESTMINSTER MP for North Ayrshire & Arran Katy Clark has thrown her weight behind a protest group who are campaigning against council cuts to education.
Following a campaign originating in an Ardrossan primary school, PACE (Parents Against Cuts in Education in North Ayrshire) - who now comprise parents and concerned citizens from across North Ayrshire - formed to voice their concerns over North Ayrshire Council's plans to make cuts to the number of classroom assistant and other so-called 'non-teaching' posts from schools. Last week, nearly 4,000 protest letters had been submitted to the council.
