Seminar held as cuts row rages on

REPRESENTATIVES from North Ayrshire's parent councils attended a seminar on June 2 amid protests against cuts to the education budget.

NAC Leader, David O'Neill, and spokesman for education, Councillor John Bell, met with Parent Council representatives from 20 local schools, with an aim of ensuring parents "have the facts regarding the financial challenges facing the council and how this will affect local education budgets." Some 22 parents participated in the seminar and workshop sessions held at Greenwood Resource Centre, with four of them taking part via a video link from Arran.
