COLLEGE MERGER COULD LEAVE JOBS UNDER THREAT
STUDENT union leaders at James Watt College could still come out against the planned merger with Reid Kerr and Clydebank Colleges announced this week.
They stressed that students must have a major say in the future running of the college's Kilwinning campus.
Management at the college say a merger with Ayrshire's other further education establishments - a favoured option for many within the Students' Association - was considered but disregarded because it would have meant splitting up the college.
