RESIDENTS HAVE MIXED VIEWS ABOUT MARINA PROPOSALS

PLANS to expand and improve Ardrossan's key marina development have met with a mixed response from those who actually live there.

Papers lodged with planning authority North Ayrshire Council recently propose a new breakwater, a marina facilities building, improved access arrangements, car parking and boat storage, a new pedestrian link bridge and a drop-off facility for cars setting down pedestrians.

As we have reported, the Irvine Bay Urban Regeneration Company development, if it goes ahead, will more than double the size of the existing marina project from the north of Montgomerie Pier and stretching well on the way towards North Crescent.
