TOWN STATION UNDER THREAT
ARDROSSAN Town railway station could be under threat of closure when Network Rail's current contracts end in 2014, it emerged this week.
Transport Scotland's 'Rail 2014' review of the country's rail network specifically cites stations within a mile of one another as potentially being subject to 'configuration' under any new arrangement - including the three Ardrossan ones.
With the Harbour and South Beach stations both serving vital roles and having a heavier passenger usage, the spotlight would then be likely to fall on the Town station.
