THE plan to cut £23.3million from community services was approved by elected members at a meeting of North Ayrshire Council last week.

During the meeting, at Cunninghame House in Irvine on Wednesday, February 1, there were several amendments to Labour's proposed budget, which was called 'depressing' by Councillor Matthew Brown, leader of the SNP.

Amid the forecast jobs losses of 167 staff posts, amendments have ensured additional funding for Education and services in Arran and the Three Towns.
