CASH FOR TOWN HALL
SALTCOATS Town Hall will receive millions of pounds in funding to refurbish the structure after a feasibility study has been conducted.
The £1.9 million amendment to the North Ayrshire Council's budget - initially calling for £3.9million investment - was proposed by Councillor Ronnie McNicol, Independent, and seconded by Cllr Willie Gibson, SNP in order to restore the decaying building with funds from uncommitted resources in the Capital Budget over 2012/16.
Cllr McNicol said there have been plans in the past to restore the building which have not materialised and he wanted to ensure work is undertaken to save the part-listed property.
