Damaged: Stuart Wilson's car was scratched by a falling sign but the council claim it was not their fault.

A MOTORIST whose car was damaged by a falling metal sign at the council's Household Waste Recycling Centre is fuming after being told he won't get any compensation - because he claims they told him it was an Act of God.

Stuart Wilson of Davaar Road in Saltcoats was at the site at Bartonholm in Irvine with some refuse after the festive season when the incident happened.

"The sign just came right down and damaged the car door, which will be almost £400 to repair. The whole thing was caught on CCTV."
