A MULTI-million pound cash injection put the development of the Dalry bypass on track, however, some politicians remain sceptical about the allocation of funding needed for the £28 million project.

During the Stage 3 Debate on the Budget Bill last Wednesday, the Scottish Government confirmed that additional Capital Allocation for 2012-15 for transport includes £10m of initial funding for A737 Dalry bypass, due to start construction by 2014 subject to completion of the statutory process.

It is thought the bypass will help separate local traffic from strategic traffic, leading to improved safety both for road users and the local community and better journey times for motorists.
