NOT ENOUGH HOMES TO RENT IN NORTH AYRSHIRE

THE number of people living in temporary accommodation in North Ayrshire is so high Shelter Scotland have highlighted a need for more affordable rented housing to be made available.

New figures have shown that 1,006 households in North Ayrshire were homeless in 2007/2008 and 246 household were living in temporary accommodation as of March 31 this year.

Graeme Brown, director of Shelter Scotland, now says that these figures must drop.
