THE announcement that a £2 billion power station is being planned for North Ayrshire which could create more than 1,500 jobs for the Three Towns and Garnock Valley has received local support.

Danish Oil and Natural Gas plan to invest the money in a 1600 MW carbon capture plant at Hunterston, expected to open between 2014 and 2018.

A massive 1,500 construction jobs will be created as a result of the plant followed by a further 150 jobs when it is in operation.
