THE SPCA have warned that you could go to jail after a puppy was dumped in Ardrossan and had wounds that might be burns.

Baby Tia, who's only three-months-old, was found on a footpath close to the ruins of Ardrossan Castle on Tuesday, January 27 at around midday.

The Staffordshire cross was reported to be tied up 600 yards away from the footpath.

A member of the public discovered the frightened puppy and contacted the SPCA.

The puppy, who the charity have named as Tia, is now being looked after at the SPCA's Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Ayr.
