MAN TACKLES GOATFELL IN MEM OF MUM

AN Ardrossan man and his pals did a charity climb in memory of his mum who died of cancer.

John McCallum and 14 of his friends set out on May 9 to climb Goatfell, Arran but they had a special reason for the trek.

John told the Herald: 'My mum Rae McCallum died of cancer this year and I wanted to do something in memory of her. Me and a few of the lads were sitting in the pub one night and it just came to us."
