Rise in bin fires becomes 'worry'

A DANGEROUS increase in wheelie-bin fires across the Three Towns could put lives at risk.

Ardrossan Fire & Rescue Service have reported a large number of blazes involving bins - with Mariners View in Ardrossan becoming the target for the most recent spate.

Mark Gallacher, Ardrossan Station Commander told the Herald: "Within the past three days we have seen a sudden rise in bin fires.

"People starting wheelie-bin fires are endangering themselves and others and it needs to stop."
