Saltcoats pet jobs saved

SEVEN jobs have been saved in Saltcoats after a buyer was found for pet supplies chain Acorn Pet Centres.

The news that former managing director Douglas Mutter will continue to run the business - which employs 153 people at 24 stores across Scotland - was met with joy at the Saltcoats store this week.

Managing director, Douglas Mutter, said: "Staff at the Saltcoats store were absolutely delighted to hear that their jobs are safe and they're looking forward to welcoming their customers again."
