Ardrossan unit and Radio City first to be hit

Council chiefs have agreed to close down the New Enterprise Workshop within Ardrossan's Hill Street Industrial estate.

The move came this week as part of a series of financial measures clearly influenced by the current economic climate.

The Ardrossan centre is the last survivor of a network set up across the west of Scotland during the 1990s to assist new and small businesses.

The council also agreed not to relocate their Garnock Valley services at Radio City in Kilbirnie and to cut off financial assistance to the Trust which runs the centre.
