Footballer fights for his life

POLICE have launched a manhunt following the attempted murder of two young Ardrossan men outside the Seamill Hydro in the early hours of Monday.

Pals Paul McInnes - who is described as being in a serious condition in hospital after his lung was punctured in the shocking assault - and Anthony Boyle were attacked at 1.10am on Monday morning in what appears to have been a row over a taxi.

Anthony has since been released from hospital. Both victims are aged 20.
