Locals have real fear of crime

CRIME is a real fear for people living in Stevenston and Saltcoats - but has dramatically decreased as a concern for Ardrossan folk.

That's one of the findings of a major new survey carried out by Strathclyde Police, which shows more than half in the first two towns describe themselves as having a fear of crime in their neighbourhood - a big increase on the previous year.
