No plans to close centre

THE council moved to reassure the public that there are NO plans to close Ardrossan's popular Whitlees Centre - despite fears in the town leading to a petition calling for the facility to be kept open.

NAC say no decision has been taken on the future of any of North Ayrshire's community centres.

And the Herald understands that alternative management of the facilities will be looked at as a possible future option.
