Siege drama

ARMED police swooped on Ardrossan's Central Avenue on Friday following reports that a man was armed with a gun.

Shocked neighbours looked on as police, including a firearms unit, swung into action.

The full scale alert came after local police learned that an individual was claiming to have a gun and threatening to take his own life.
