A DEAD body was recovered from the sea at Portencross on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to a pier near West Kilbride where a man's body was pulled from the water.
Clyde Coastguard, Troon lifeboat and the Sea King helicopter from HMS Gannet carried out the search of the area after Strathclyde Police received a report of a missing person.
At 7.50am on Tuesday the body was pulled from the water.
