Week two of my Marine Makeover challenge was fantastic!

I signed up for TWO, yes two, pilates classes this week. I'm now officially addicted. During said class and in pain I think to myself, why do I do this again? But by the time I'm walking out the door I'm fighting people off in a bid to get a space on the list for the next class. You can definitely feel it working and after some research on the internet it seems that pilates is all about toning and lengthening the muscles. Which makes you appear slimmer and taller even if you don't lose actual weight on the scales. So combining that with the programme I'm still following in the gym must be a good thing.

So that was Monday night - roll on Tuesday because I was booked in for a facial with the lovely Keri.

Full of plans to go to the gym afterwards I arrived at the Marine. It's all Decleor products that are used so they feel really luxurious. Keri removed all my make-up then applied all sorts of weird and wonderful things to my face, including a re-hydrating mist! A shoulder and chest massage is also included in the facial which was a lovely surprise.

Afterwards I was so relaxed (and with strict instruction from Keri not to wash the cream off my face) I thought I better not risk the gym!

I did return the next night though and after a sweaty workout headed straight for the pool. After a few lengths I was drawn to the other features - namely the jacuzzi! What a great way to relax after a workout. Followed by a quick spell in the sauna, I then proceeded into the steam room which is my favourite. The Marine have a menthol aroma in there so you feel as if you're being cleaned from the inside out. It's a lovely feeling. Lying back on the marble to look up at the ceiling is a pleasant thing to do because the lights change colour. Also a great way to relax.

Fortunately after all my hard work I'd lost two pounds. A triumph I think. Let's see how it goes next week.
