'Jim is our hero'

Jim is pictured with locals in Saltcoats recently when he passed through the town on his 'Great British Run'
We have a local hero in our town and I wish to nominate him for a reward. The Running Kilt, Jim Montgomerie, has ran the full length of the United Kingdom and I am sorry that I did not see him running through our town during his travels. I have no idea how far this man has run but when my son was training in the RAF my husband and I travelled regularly to see him down south. the mileage is truly unbelievable.
it is not surprising what he has done though - when you read his website, he is our local iron man! As I write this, my son is out in Afghanistan and he told me about the story because I was away for a few days.
Because it was for Help for Heroes, all the RAF boys are checking out Jim's website. I had heard about Jim like my son but had not realised how much he had raised, how much effort he has put in and how much he has helped our community. These feats should not go unnoticed - we have Help for Heroes and he is our local hero.
