McBookie League Two
SALTCOATS VICTORIA 0
FORTH WANDERERS 2
VICS are still waiting on their first home league win after going down to the Lanarkshire side at Campbell Park.
The match was switched to Campbell Park owing to drainage work at Kingshill Park.
A host of players were missing from the home starting line-up, including player-manager and top scorer scorer Eva Bembo.
For Saltcoats this was something of a game of two halves, as they controlled much of the first half and fell out of the game after the break.
Saltcoats had much of the first half pressure. However, they didn't create any serious goal threats. This was quite possibly due to the absence of various regular players, who had holiday, work and other commitments. At half time it was 0-0 and Saltcoats were frustrated not to be ahead.
Not long into the second half, Saltcoats were denied what appeared to be a clear penalty. Not long after, one of Forth’s subs collided with a Saltcoats player. It was something of a puzzle to the Seasiders' support that the foul was given the other way. This foul resulted in Forth’s first goal. Forth then added a second later in the game.
While Saltcoats have been playing some good football during recent games they are still waiting on their first home win in the league this season.
