Beith Musseled out
Emirates Scottish Junior Cup Third Round BEITH JUNIORS 2 MUSSELBURGH ATHLETIC 3
BEITH sadly exited the Emirates Scottish Cup, albeit somewhat unfortunately, at the hands of last year's beaten finalists after a thrilling contest at Bellsdale.
The hosts will probably still be debating whether the efforts to have the pitch playable were worth it when the testing underfoot conditions arguably favoured the slightly more physical East Coast visitors.
When the referee inspected the pitch early morning it was unquestionably playable but the Scottish weather did its worst between then and the kick off with many, and quite vociferously the visitors, believing the match should not have started. Start and finish it did however and the spectators who braved the elements were treated to a contest in which both sides gave their all and should be complimented, particularly for the first half when the torrential rain never halted.
