Stagecoach Super League Premier Division ARTHURLIE 0 BEITH JUNIORS 3
DUNTERLIE Park is traditionally a difficult place for any visiting teams but Beith virtually stole the show from the first whistle and hardly allowed the home side a look in over the whole 90 minutes, producing one of their best performances of the season.
Beith had Kenny McLean back to lead the line and the wee striker and Steven O'Keane quickly put the home side on to the back foot combining well upfront.
The eager visitors won a couple of corners and following the second. the ball was played back to Jay Lang whose on-target shot was clearly stopped by an Arthurlie defender's hand but despite loud and persistent appeals referee Stewart waved play on.
Beith were not to be deterred by the decision however and kept up the pressure to take the lead in the 9th minute. Stuart Callaghan delivered a fine cross into the box after Stevie O'Keane had been fouled and found who else but Kenny McLean who smartly headed past ex-Beith keeper Keith Ross. The goalscorer almost added another minutes later when he again found space in the Arthurlie box but this time his header went over the bar.
