WINTON Park survived the cold spell that had gripped the local area, however the torrential rain, which swept the ground from an hour before kick and throughout the match, destroyed the Ardrossan side's chance of topping the First Division.
John Garroch's hosts tried to play their usual passing game from kick-off and had made a number of early chances. However they came up against a Cumbernauld side who after losing at home to Winton 5-1 in November, have now won four away games in a row.
