KILLER instinct was the only element missing in Killie's game as they pounded Mark McGhee's top-six chasers for much of the match but emerged with only a point to show for their efforts.
Like a prized fighter, Jim Jefferies' side battered a very physical Well team who had little in the way of skill into subsmission in the first half and for spells in the second period but failed to deliver the knockout blow which would have eased much of the pressure.
