SCOTTISH CUP: Largs put Meadow out

Emirates Scottish Cup Quater-Final: LARGS THISTLE 1 IRVINE MEADOW 0

SO the dream is over but red-hot trophy favourites Irvine Meadow saw their hopes of reclaiming the Junior game's Holy Grail for the first time in 37 years end with much more of a whimper than a bang.

And the terrible wintry conditions for much of the match which saw lashing rain and a fierce wind dominate the day before British Summer Time officially began pretty much summed up the gloomy mood as the visiting players exited stage left unannounced from this famous old arena just before 4.30pm.

For Stewart McConnell's match report and som eexellent action pictures from Charlie Gilmour see this week's paper.
