THORN IN THEIR SIDE

FAST-IMPROVING Three Towns darts ace Robert "The Thorn Thornton says it will be "the ultimate honour" to represent Scotland in the World Cup on home turf with the new event to be staged in Glasgow in December.

The world number 14 from Stevenston, who reached the last 16 of the Professional Darts Corporation World Championships at London's Alexandra Palace earlier this year, is set to team up with Gary "The Flying Scotman" Anderson to compete in the event, which will feature 24 countries and is being hosted at the SECC.
