Train commuters between Ardrossan and Largs are facing major disruption following two "significant landslips" on the line.
They occured at Fairlie and West Kilbride and as a result no trains are running from or to Ardrossan and Largs.
ScotRail have confirmed that a replacement shuttle bus is in place between Largs and Kilwinning.
Saltcoats and Stevenston will still be served by their Ardrossan services.
However, space on buses will be limited due to physical distancing measures.
It is unclear as to how long work will take before the line can safely reopen with disruption set to continue until at least Wednesday.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "Our teams are assessing the damage at both sites now.
"We don’t have an estimate for the line to reopen at the moment."
This is the other landslip we're dealing with, between Ardrossan and West Kilbride. You can see the signalling cable and the troughing which normally holds it suspended in the air.
