A 62-year-old man was rushed to hospital with “serious but not life-threatening injuries” following an incident in Saltcoats yesterday (April 29).
The Herald reported on Thursday that police were called to the Braes around 1.20pm after reports of an injured cyclist.
Emergency services raced to the scene with an ambulance transporting the man to Crosshouse Hospital.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.20pm on Thursday, April 29, we received a report that a cyclist had been injured on Braes Road, Saltcoats, following a manoeuvre performed by a vehicle.
"The 62-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 1464 of April 29."
