MEMBERS of Saltcoats Bowling Club have unveiled their new pavilion.
The new bowls house has been named after member Ruth Carson, who passed away last year after a five year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Michael Grant, club secretary told the Herald: “Ruth was a member for over 30 years, along with the rest of her family. She was always watching bowls from the old pavilion, and would be working away behind the scenes for the club, if it was fundraising or helping out at events.
“We were renovating the bowls house, and, we wanted to do something special.
“Ruth, along with the rest of the ladies members, have been the club’s backbone and we wanted to honour their tireless work.”
