Young people from Garnock Community campus developed their own pride project by painting a bench as part of a youth group project.
Daniel Robertson from North Ayrshire Young Person Support services explained to the Herald: “The wee group of young people I work with because it was Pride month in June, they wanted to create a gesture of their own.
"As they felt they had an affinity to the flag and the LGBTQI+ cause, so we approached the school about the project and got authorisation to paint one of their benches.
"The young people led from the front, they chose the flag, the colours and wanted to do something that was to be visible. They wanted people to know that they are not alone.
"We already have interest from schools who want to do similar.”
