Saltcoats Record Centre will host Kyle Falconer this Saturday [July 31] as the Dundee frontman embarks on a whistle stop tour of Scotland’s independent record stores as part of the launch of his new solo album “No Love Songs for Laura”.

The View frontman will unveil the album on Friday and is set to appear at a handful of Scottish record shops over the weekend, including Saltcoats Record Centre.

He will be at the Countess Street store on Saturday, July 31, from 1.30pm to perform a short acoustic set, meet fans and autograph CDs. The stop is part of a mini record store tour in support of the record, including visits to Inverness, Aberdeen, Stirling, Saltcoats, Edinburgh and Dundee.

The upcoming album “reflects upon both his home life, with his wife Laura and two children, and the journey he has undertaken to arrive where he is today”.

He previously teased the release with lead singles Wait Around and Stress Ball.

Described as an “anthemic 13-track set”, the Dundee singer’s sophomore album promises to show him “sounding like he’s never sounded before”.

Falconer will follow up the record with a four-date September tour in Scotland, appearing at Church, Dundee (13); Oran Mor, Glasgow (14); The Caves, Edinburgh (15); and Tunnels, Aberdeen (16).
