Ardeer Thistle manager Sean Kenney praised the backing his new team has had from fans after they topped the league with a 3-2 win over Port Glasgow at the weekend.
Thistle came from behind twice at Ardeer Stadium thanks to a double from Ryan Wilson and a header from Michael Howie.
Speaking to Herald, Kenney said: “I was really pleased how we battled back from being behind twice. The squad has shown great character to come away with a hard-fought win.
“We are three wins out of three so far and that is great for the fans who are back in watching us again.
“Their support has been unbelievable and every game we seem to get more and more fans at.
“There is a good relationship between the fans, the players, the management team, the committee, and everything just seems to be coming together, there is a real feel-good factor at the club. “
Next up for Ardeer is a midweek trip to take on second-placed side St Cadoc’s for an early top-of-the-table clash.
Kenney says he is expecting a tough visit to McKenna Park on Wednesday night, tipping the
hosts as title favourites this season.
He continued: “St Cadoc’s are a really good side, who I’ve always said are a Premier Division side playing in the Conferences.
“We will go up there work hard and back ourselves and if we get anything from the game that would be brilliant.”
