Saltcoats Victoria announced the resignation of manager Iain McMillan and goalkeeping coach Allan McMillan last week.
In the same statement, they confirmed that Blair Gilmour will take over as interim manager, with Kris Gilhooley coming in as his assistant.
Speaking to the Herald, McMillan said: “I have given 11 years to Saltcoats as a player and a manager, so I have a real affection for the club and the decision to leave was a really difficult one.
“The decision was
nothing to do with the playing side and I would like to thank all the players for the commitment they have given to the club.
“I resigned over an off the park incident that I felt I could not be resolved.
“There has not been a big fall out with the club and I am hoping to be welcome at Campbell Park and I wish the club all the best going forward.“
It will be his last management position in football as McMillan announced his retirement from the sport as well.
“I will not be looking to get back into the management, I always saw this as my final job.
“I wanted to try and bring a bit of stability on the park to the club and try and progress us off the park as well.”
